How does the estate planning process work?

Attorney Julian LaCasse explains:

The first step of the estate planning process is for you to contact a California estate planning attorney. That person will ask you to fill out a form with some of your personal information that they’ll use in drafting the documents. The next step, typically, is a meeting where you sit down with that attorney and you discuss your intentions.

You discuss your circumstances, and together you formulate a plan for your estate. The attorney then drafts the documents, sends you the drafts to review, and once you work out the kinks, the two of you sit down together to sign the documents. It all starts with contacting the California estate planning attorney.
